    Information about the family of John Bell fraser came from the publication "Association of Ontario Land Surveyors Committee on Biography" [https://www.aols.org/sites/default/files/Fraser-T.pdf].The same publication showed that John Bell Fraser was physician, who graduated from the Royal Military College in Kingston. Before moving to Toronto he practiced in Spencerville. After moving to Toronto, the family resided at 414 Sherbourne Street.

    Notes:

    Thomas Fraser studied surveying and engineering at Auburn, N.Y. He was appointed a land surveyor for Upper Canada in 1825. Together with surveyors William H. Kilborn and Thomas Burrows, he surveyed for parts of the Rideau Canal. He also surveyed in Lennox, Addington and Frontenac Counties. He served a term in the army in Haiti. He supported the Reform party in politics, and was a Methodist.

    This Thomas Fraser served in the military (perhaps in the 1812-1814 war?) and was known as Lieut. Thomas Fraser. He and his brother William were appointed as magistrates in 1793. Thomas also served as a member of the provincial legislature for Dundas County.
