Stranger made Inquires: The movements of handy's companion, have hover been, tied farther bak than the return trip from Niles. Osborn says retold the visitor that Handy was in Niles with a car of potatoes.Osborn was unable to give a detailed description of the man, but according to Mrs Brader's account of the description told her by her husband, the stranger must have been the individual who approached Osborn.
Osborn was able to give considerable information regarding the murdered man's temperament & habits, as handy was in his employ during the early summer months. Handy was at times nearly distracted over his family troubles, declared Osborn & wold become confidential with anyone who would listen sympathetically to his story. Handy according to Osborn, invariable carted 2 pocketbooks with large sums of money. Sheriff Bridgman believes Handy had between $600-$700 on his person the night of the murder.
