    . 1915 Mar 9, A stranger giving the name of Elmer Youngblood was taken into custody Monday night by Patrolman Wanner & lodged at headquarters while the detectives investigate him.

    . 1915 JUL 6 - According to the testimony advanced in Police court by Amos Herbert, 801 Division Ave S, his wife interrupted his nap by hitting him with a broomstick. When he went out after some ice water she threw the shaving mug at him. In retaliation Herbert said he shook the woman, but Patrolman Wanner said he was choking her when the officer arrived. "My attention was directed to the fracas when a caster from a stove was hurled from the window," said Wanner. Judge Hess assess Herbert $15 & costs or 30 days.

    . 1915 Jul 29. Little Girl Is Grief Stricken; Money Is Lost: While patrolling his beat on Grandville Ave. S W, early Thursday, Patrolman Wanner saw Alice Kett, little girl residing on B street in tears. She told the patrolman of having lost a $5 bill while on her way to a drug store. The girl is a member of a large family & there is said to be illness at her house. Together the patrolman & the girl searched for the money, but their efforts were of no avail. Finally a woman said she saw a man pick up something from the sidewalk & that the article looked like a bill. Now Alice is hoping that the stranger, who probably found the money, will return it to her.

    . 1915 Aug 6. Patrolman is Stricken, Condition is Serious: Patrolman Samuel Wanner, 422 Barth St. S E, again was stricken with acute indigestion Thursday night & carried home by he police ambulance. The first attack gripped him Sunday night while he was working his beat.

Wanner found the machine badly damaged on the side of the road. - - -

    . 1918 Jun 14, Mortuary Notice. Veteran Barber Dies, Julius Wanner, age 85, more than 50 year a barber here, died at his residence, 422 Barth St., Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Wanner has been a resident of GR for 55 years He leaves 4 daughters & 6 sons, Funeral services will be held at the residence Sunday morning at 8:30. Interment will take place in Ada Cemetery.
