Notes:

James is the son of Jane Ruxton & John McIntosh, both b. Scotland.

His father was born at Rockfield Village, Tarbat, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland & came to farm at Amabel township in Bruce County , Ontario, some time between 1855 and 1861.

His mother was born at Woolich township in Wellington County, Ontario. Her parents had come from Foveran, Aberdeenshire to settle in Canada about 1836.

McINTOSH, John Pg 170 "East Part, Lot 11, Concession D, Amabel Twp." 
John McIntosh, born 1839, married Jane Ruxton, born in 1845. In March 1894 John was granted the patent for the East Part, Lot 11, Concession D.
James was born 1874; Rachel (Mrs. John Reid) was born in 1877 - died in 1906; Annie (Mrs. George Henry) was born in 1879 - died in 1947; Ellen married Mr. William Binns.

James married Mary, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. George Walker. They had 3 children:
Lizzie, who died when she was 8; Jean & Harold.
Jean married Thorold Cruickshanks.
Harold married Edna, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. George Trask of Arran Township. They lived with Harold's parents & operated the farm.
Mrs. Jim McIntosh died in 1948 & Jim died in 1953. Harold & Edna had 2 children:
Ross & Ruth who married Alan Henderson; they live in Shallow Lake with their son & daughter. Ross is an electrician on the staff of Miller Electric Limited, Port Elgin. Harold died in 1980. Edna & Ross live on the farm. - - -

James married Mary Clieve WALKER, .6 on 25 Jun 1903 in Amabel Twp., Bruce Co., Ontario. Mary (daughter of George WALKER, Jr., The 5th and Elizabeth Perie MCKIDDIE) was born on 6 Sep 1882 in Allenford, Amabel Twp., Bruce Co., Ontario; died in 1948 in Allenford, Amabel Twp., Bruce Co., Ontario; was buried in Zion Cemetery.
