Murphy vs Goodmurphy
Note: John Byron may have gone by the surname Murphy, as did some of his children.
Much of the information retrieved from Ancestry.Ca has recordings under the surname "Murphy".
However, I do note that the Marriage Notice for Netah Grace, has her surname as Goodmurphy, and her parents as John B Goodmurphy and Ida Young Goodmurphy.
According to Lelia Muriel's descendants, she elected to use the surname Goodmurphy.
The older Census records tended to use, for example: John G Murphy.
I have elected to use the Goodmurphy surname for the whole family, John Byron's grandfather John C. eventually went by that surname. John C.'s older brother Lawrence went by Goodmurphy. So did the youngest brother Francis. Whether Murphy or Goodmurphy, they were all blood-related.
