Tom is one of the more elusive Callaghans to track down.
Very little is known about him, and records on his life have been very sparse.
His place of birth is altemately listed as both Ireland and Ontario.2e There is a Thomas Callaghan listed in the 1881 census for Marysville.
He is listed as a widower, age 33 and living alone, which may or may not be this Thomas, based upon the accuracy of Bridget's death date.
Thomas and Bridget possibly moved to the Deseronto area for a time.
After Bridget's death in 1893, it appears that Thomas moved back to Tyendinaga, living with his widowed sister Kate, until his death in 1917.
In the 1901 census he lists his place of birth as Ontario, and his year of birlh as 1826.

Thomas married Bridget Ellen AYLWARD about 1848. Bridget was born in 1818 in County Galway, Ireland; died on 22 May 1893 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Daniel emigrated with his older brother Thomas, followed 10 years later by their nephew Cornelius (eldest son of Denis. Denis emigrated in the mid 1840's.

Daniel held the original Crown Patent for 100 acres at Con 3 Lot25 S%, deeded on May 16,1843, property which he had been settled on for some 10 years.
The land at Con 3 Lot25 eventually passed to his son Denis (Big Din) Callaghan.
In 1834, the Hastings Militia rolls list Daniel as then living at Con 2 Lot25. This land was eventually passed down to Big Din's only surviving child, Johanna (Murphy).
This family emigrated to Marysville in about 1826. They had six children:
