    NOTE 1./ Confederate Soldier--Co. F, 49th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia. C.S.A. Enlisted 3-4-1862. He was wounded having his right leg crushed and permanently disabled in a railroad accident near Kingswillv, North Carolina on 2-11-1863. He was admitted to Floyd House Hospital, as crippled, November 21, 1863 and again on December 10, 1863--

    CSA married Nancy C. SUMNER on 20 May 1841 in Irwin County, Georgia. Nancy (daughter of Jesse Charles SUMNER and Serina Levina YATES) was born on 03 May 1823 in Emanuel County, Georgia; died on 15 Mar 1903 in Worth County, Georgia; was buried in Rocky Creek Cemetery.
