    Your petitioner is a native of the Parish of Bangor, County Down, Ireland, from whence he imported to Quebec in April last [1823], with a wife & 4 children, has taken the Oath of Allegiance and received no land from the Crown.
    Your petitioner is of the ability & desirous to settle on & improve a lot of 200 Acres of the waste lands.

    Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays your Excellency will grant him 200 acres of the waste land and praying of fees.
    Your petitioner will ever part, Signed, Samuel McCutcheon., York, 18 February, 1824.
    Your petitioner brought out several Certificates but lost them on Board the Steam Boat lately General [Mem Jenbge?]
    Note: Their ship sunk on the St. Lawrence River Rapids near Morrisburg, Ontario.
