This community has suffered the loss of one of its oldest &most esteemed residents, in the person of Mr. Charles Meredith, lot 23, con. 6. Death came to Mr. Meredith, who was in his 78th year, on Friday last & the remains were interred in the family plot in the cemetery on the corner of the farm on Sunday afternoon. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Joseph M. Hagar, Acton, & Rev. L. Perrin, B.A. assisted in the funeral services. Mr. Meredith was a life-long Methodist & has a son a minister in the Montreal Conference, Rev. Thomas Meredith, who was present at the funeral.
