Notes:

The source for John Carey's death is an article in The Port Huron Times Herald, 23 Oct 1874. It states that he died of suicide and was found hanging in the barn belonging to his son, James. I do not know of a son named James in the family. Could James have been a cousin of Nathan?
The 1891 Census of CA lists a John Carey living with the Findley McDonald family. Highly doubtful that this is my John Cary.
