Elizabeth Vanderburg, 3 Oct 1759, d 31 Dec 1819, married Teunis Van Benschoten. . In the city of Poughkeepsie, on the west side of Vassar street. Built over. REMARKS: In 1702 Baltus Barents Van Klecek, ancestor of all Van Kleecks in the United States, built a house at Poughkeepsie that remained standing until well into the nineteenth century. It stood near the corner of the present Mill & Vassar streets & west of it there grew up a family burial ground. Stones in this also stood until well along in the nineteenth century. The location & former existence of the Van Kleeck family ground are cited because it is probable that within the present city of Poughkeepsie there were once other family grounds like this, records which has not been preserved. Another instance is the Benschoten ground mentioned but not located. These small family grounds presumably were used in the eighteenth century before churchyards became numerous. . No record of 1st land owners in Microfiche Abstracts for Geo. This Sargent ever having owned this piece of property, yet it was left to his descends by his will. We believe he made arrangements with the owner in Grimsby area to buy L12 C7, Garafraxa, & settled on it, but because of his untimely death, he never made a payment on it; also because of the distance to Toronto, the mode of travel by foot, around by Galt to Hamilton to Toronto. We expect the Sargent family came by way of Hamilton to Toronto We expect the Saregent family came by way of Brantford to Elora, Fergus to Belwood, following the Grand River then an Indian Trail. They may have come to Garafraxa because a relative, Lewis Felker 1795 & his wife Mary Meredith 1796, & their family came to W Holt 16 & 17, C7, Garafraxa at Carmel in March 1826. Fellers & Merediths were U.E.L. from the Grimsby area. Since Thomas died in 1849, we have not discovered where he was born, but D.F. Sargent always said his people came from England. Likely by way of NY City and across NY State from Albany by way of Erie Canada to Buffalo or to Niagara-on-the-Lake, arriving in the Niagara Peninsula where why were married. - - - | FELKER, Sarah .1 (I579)

21743 | Sarah is the daughter of Sarah Ladner & John Willson. the Elder Senior. . I believe John Wilson had a sister Sarah b. about 1735, d. 6/14/1791, age 56, married 1/3/1770 Thomas Mundy Jr., b. about 1731, d. 9/26/1794, age 61. I believe the marriage was at St. James Church in Piscataway (Church of England) although the record is with Christ Church (Church of England) records of New Brunswick, St. James records having been merged in there years ago when St. James ceased to exist. The present Episcopal Church on the St. James location is not related to the original & the cemetery has pretty much been, & still is, a community cemetery. Thomas Mundy, Jr. (4) & Sarah Wilson are my Gt., Gt. Gt. Gt. Grandparents. Thomas Jr. (4) was the son of Thomas Sr. (3) Nicholas Jr. (2), Nicholas Sr. (1) who came to Piscataway circa 1671 from Barbados, West Indies. Signed, Nicholas Monday Sanborn, Sr., NICK. 2016.12.16.
