"He had previously been Minister in Gouroch, Scotland and he came out with the Free Church at the dissension in 1843. Dr D McLeod was born at Luss, Loch Lomond, Scotland - married Elizabeth Cochran. Her Mother was Jane McCullough. Dr McLeod came to Canada in 1850 and was called by the Cobourg congregation (inducted June 21, 1850). He ministered to the congregation for about 10 years when his health failed and he returned to Scotland in November or December 1860."
