Micajah Mathews was born in 1775 in Edgefield, SC. and died sometime
before July 7, 1856 in Crawford Co., GA. Information on his wife is
unknown at this time. They had a son, George F. Mathews, born in 1800
in Edgefield. He married Elizabeth THOMPSON, daughter of Henry
THOMPSON, on April 23, 1820 in Jones, GA. George and Elizabeth both
died about 1865 in TX. They are buried in Holland Cemetery, Wood Co.,
TX. They had a son, George Walter Mathews who was born in April 1835 in
