    • Obituary:
      Moved to Michigan 4 Dec. 1998. Obituary found in a Bible belonging to him. The Bible is now in the possession of Mildred L. Blynn Galbrath, daughter of Maud Dean Blynn. Saginaw Newspaper. "Dean - R. Merville Dean of the city died suddenly of heart disease Monday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Smith of Alpena. He was 65 years of age. Born in Frankfort, NY. Jan. 1, 1852. He was taken by his family to Oswego, NY. while yet an infant. He grew to manhood there. In 1881 he was married to Miss Etta (Marietta) Goodenough in Tonawanda NY. They lived there until 1897 when they came
      to Saginaw, which has since been the family home. Mr. Dean was an active worker of the Clinton Street MP Church (know to be the Free Methodist Church). He is survived by his wife three sons and three daughters. H.L. Dean of Flint, Rev. J Vernon Dean of Port Huron (George), Mrs. George Duell of Buffalo, NY., Mrs. Elmer Smith of Aplena, William and Miss Maud Dean at home. There are also two brothers, Myron and Charles. The body will be brought to Saginaw for Burial. The funeral of R. Mervill Dean will take place a 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Family home, 1223 Madison Street. Rev. John N. Wilson will officiate and the interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
