    • Thomas Fraser studied surveying and engineering at Auburn, N.Y. He was appointed a land surveyor for Upper Canada in 1825. Together with surveyors William H. Kilborn and Thomas Burrows, he surveyed for parts of the Rideau Canal. He also surveyed in Lennox, Addington and Frontenac Counties. He served a term in the army in Haiti. He supported the Reform party in politics, and was a Methodist.
