- Christeen Felker is the daughter of Johann Jakob Völckel JACOB FELKER & Maria Elisabeth MARY Griesing. Christeen Felker was born in (Elizabethtown?), NEW JERSEY, USA & died in Smithville, Ontario, then considered the Niagara Frontier of Upper Canada.
Two Roszel brothers married two Felker sisters:
Nathaniel Roszel married 25 Oct 1809 to Christina Felker.
George Roszel married 1810 to Catherine Felker.
> Noted1: It is further noted that Christeen Felker Roszel died after childbirth on the 10th of October 1812. Did the War of 1812 add further deprivations to her travail? The Battle of Queenston Heights, the first major engagement of the War of 1812, began at 3 a.m. on Oct. 13. Although the Battle of Queenston Heights was a 'surprise attach', there was much tension was in the air. The 4th Regiment of the Lincoln Militia was on standby for the inventible attach by the invaders from the USA.
Was Christeen's husband Nathaniel Roszel on duty when his second son was born? In any case, Nathaniel, married 10 January, 1813, three months to the day after Christeen's death, to Hannah Fowler. - PJ Ahlberg 2012.
