An article in the Brampton Daily Times of 20 March 1973 describes the early days of a Magill family in Peel County, as told by Miss Lorna Magill. The family arrived in 1828, settling on crown land near Norval. The family [Mr. and Mrs. Magill, Lorna, Nina, James Johnson, William Graydon, and Myrtle) with 5 children, moved to Brampton in 1907, building a large 12-room house.
