. 1640 - John Tuttle laid out the Rowley & Ipswich roadways.
. 1642 - laid out Ann boundary.
. 1643 Mar 7, Represented Ipswich at the Great Court, Boston.
. John Tuttle Jr. held several public offices, & was ensign of the Dover military company.
He lived on the west side of Back river, about a mile from his father, on his grandfather's farm. He owned a large tract of land in the parish of Somersworth & another at Tole End.
. 1712 May 7, when he was attending to some business at his mill on the upper falls of Cochecho, with his eldest son, he was suddenly attacked by some Indians & slain. His son Thomas escaped. At the time of the massacre at Dover, in 1689, his wife's father, her brother & her sister, were killed & the garrison burned by the Indians, while she & 2 sisters were carried away. The party was overtaken after a time by the soldiers at Conway & the 3 prisoners rescued.
When John Tuttle was killed. He left his wife with 6 children, the oldest only 14 years of age.
. 1759 Mar 29 - WILLo f John Tuttle of Ipswich. Administration on the estate of John Tuttle - granted George Giddinge & Mr Joseph Jewett, formerly attorneys of the estate.
Whereas Mr. John Tuttle died in Ireland about 2 or 3 yeas ago, & there being no Will or Administration & the heir appearing & desiring to have the house & land which was his fathers, the court ordered 27 Sep 1659, that if the heir, Symon Tuttle, gave security to repay the rent he shall receive & keep the house in repair, he might take the estate into his possession until the court takes further order,
