. Burlington NJ Monthly Meeting
18 Jun 1760 - Whereas Joseph Wharton of the City of Philadelphia in the province of Pennsylvania, Merchant, son of Joseph Wharton of Walnut Grove in the County of Philadelphia, aforesaid &
Sarah Tallman to the township of Mansfield in the Co. of Burlington & province of West New Jersey,
daughter of Job Tallman, late of the same place, deceased,
having declared their intentions of marriage with each other before several monthly meetings of the people called Quakers at Burlington,
according to the good order used among them & having consent of parents, their said proposal of marriage was allowed of by the said meeting.
Now these are to Certify whom it was concern that for the full accomplishing their said intentions, this 28 day of 6th month in the year of our Lord 1760, they the said Joseph Wharton & Sarah Tallman appeared in a public meeting of the people at Mansfield aforesaid & the said Joseph Wharton taking the said Sarah Tallman by the hand, did in solum inccuran? openly declare that he tool the said Sarah Tallman to be his wife, priming through the Lord, assisting to be unto her a loving & faithful husband until death doth separate them. And then and there in the same assembly, the said Sarah Tallman did declare that she took him the said Joseph Wharton to be her husband, promising though the Lord's assistance to be unto him a loving & faithful wife until death should separate them. And were over they 2 said Joseph Wharton & Sarah Tallman. She according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband.
As a further continuation there did then & there to those present set therein subscribe being present at the marriage on the date written above:

. 1763 June 28. Joseph Warton, Jr., merchant, & ux Sarah Tallman & John Lawrence, Esq., of Burlington, & ux Martha Tallman conveyed land to Joseph Tallman,
Jr., and in the deed it appears that Sarah and Martha were daughters and co-heirs of the late Job Tallman, of Mansfield.
