Mrs L E Sheffield of San Jose, Ca., a native Los Gatos, Cal.,
aged 31 years, 3 months, & 4 days.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 10, 1919, at Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel, San Mateo county, at 11:00 am.
Auto cortege at the residence parlors of C S Topping 349 W Min St. Los Gatos, Cal. at 9. a.m.

Death of George L Withey is blow to Friends in Gem city
Los Gatos, Ja 8 The health board announces that there have been no new cases in influenza reported by any physician since Sunday evening at that time there were 6 cases & 3 of them were very light.
. National Day of Pray Observed, yesterday. ... unusually large attendance. The topics which were generally discussed were, Whisky an agent of death influenza & pneumonia.
. Death of Los Gatos Man
The death of George L Withey which took place this morning at his late residence at Campbell comes as a distinct shock to many friends of this man who have known him since childhood days. Mr. Withey had an attack of influenza but was seemingly well over it when he took a reverse & pneumonia set in causing his death. He was born in Los Gatos 31 years ago & practices passed his life in this valley. He received his education in the Lo Gatos & San Jose schools & was married 10 years ago to Miss Ada Behrens? of this city.
He leaves to mourn his early death, his widow & 2 children,
Hadassdah named for his mother & George Jr,
also his father John G Withes of Los Gotos,
2 brothers H J Withey of Modersto & Robert Withey of Los Gatos & a sister
Mrs. L E Sheffield of San Jose.
Mr. Withey had the general happy disposition that his many friends for 2 & half years he has been foreman on the Duiard ranch, near Campbell & had resigned his position to go into business with his older brother in Modesto.
The auto cortege will leave the C S Topping funeral parlor at 9 am. Friday, the funeral service will be held at Mount Olivet cemetery chapel at 11:30 that morning. Rev J L Spoics officiating to be followed by cremation. - - -
