. 1912 Aug 31 - Mrs JJ Atkinson, Mrs D Crowley & Mrs John Osborne* & daughter Icylena* went to Waterliet this morning to spend Sunday.
Note: One or the other is a publication error: Juditha Lawrence Osborne would be Icylena's grandmother - PJA.
. 1933 Oct 25 - A quilt will be sold & proceeds used for the patents at the American Legion hospital at Battle Creek & the Children's billet at Otter Lake. the Am. Legion auxiliary luncheon at the home of Mrs Freeman Hewitt, east of the city. the annual collection for the service basket was also brought to the meeting. the collection will be used to buy treats for the patients at the Battle Creek hospital.

. 1936 Sep 1 - American Legion Auxiliary elects…Mrs Freeman Hewitt was elected president. A picnic was planned for Sept 13 at Cable Lake, Sept 27will meet in Benton Harbor with an evening dinner at the Hotel Vincent.
. 1938 Oct 3 - Attend Funeral Mrs Ira Swisher, 1280 Columbus avenue, Mrs Freeman Hewitt, RFD 2, Benton harbor, have returned from Thompsonville, Mich., where they attended the funeral of Mrs Warren G Swisher, who died at her home Sept 26, after 3 years illness. Funeral at Thompsonville, MrsSwisher leaves her husband, 7 children, 15 grandchildren. Mr Mrs Swisher moved to Thompsonville 38 years ago from Sodus.

. 1952 Aug 5, Benton Harbor Auxiliary of American Legion Post 105, meeting. Mrs Freeman Hewitt served refreshments at the close of the businesses meeting.
. 1960 Jun 18- The birthday of Mrs Freeman Hewitt was honored by the Just Us club, when it met at her home, 652 Buss Avenue, Thurs. evening. The club's annual report was given & showed much work had bee done on behalf of veterans & their families. Published 1960.6.18

Relatives & friends of Mr Mrs Freeman George Hewitt of 632 Buss Ae, Benton harbor, are invited to an open house anther home 2pm on Sunday Oct 26 1969. sponsoring the affair are the couple's 3 ons & their wives.
The former Mis Icylene "Icy" Osborne of Sodus & Mr Hewitt were married in Benton Harbor on Oct 30 1919, by Rev TW Bellingham, First Christian Church.
They went housekeeping on a Benton Center Road farm & for a few years loved in the Hartford Keeler area. They have lived in the present home for 21 years, since 1948, moving here from Territorial Rd.
Mrs. Hewitt was born Jun 18 1900 in sodas Twp., the only child the late Wm & Lena Swisher Hewitt. Her husband was b. Sep 8, 1895, Benton Twp., one of 3 children, a son & 2 Dau., of the late Robt. & Susan Bury Hewitt. His serving sister is Res. Fred Andres.
Mrs Hewitt retired in 1961 from Mich. Fruit Canners, Benton Harbor. He was with them 25 years. Prior to that he farmed. Hewitt is a member of Lakeview Barracks 582, Veterans of WWI. Mrs Hewitt of its Ladies Auxiliary. Both are member of the First Christian Church, of BH & she of Ruth Circle of the church, & also a member of Just U Club. When queried on hobbies Mr. Hewitt let it be known that he still like to keep busy work & read & look at TV. Mrs Hewitt's hobby is collecting saucers. She has one that is over 100 years old & the cup to go with it. Her collection is just sort of 80.
In addition to the suns: Led of Highland, Mich, Robert of Bangor, F Blaine of Benton Harbor, the Hewitts have 11 grandchildren & 1 great-granddaughter.
