      . 1903 May 2 - Vineland Mrs John & Orlando Lein of St. Joseph were in our neighborhood last week calling on friends.
      . 1903 Jun 20 - Ran Over by Wagon. Orlando Lein, deliveryman for Frank Weber is nursing an injured foot that will trouble him for some time. He was making his daily trip out on the Lake Shote drive, Thursday afternoon, when one of the horse shied at a passing object & jerked the driver between the animals. He was knocked down & the horses sprang forward The wheels passed over his left foot, severely crushing it. Work of the accident was sent to this city & a carriage was dispatched to bring Mr. Lein home. Dr Gowdy cared for the injuries & today Mr. Lien is hobbling about town on crutches.
      . 1904 Jul 9 - Orlando Lein was driving in from the country this morning with several crates of cherries the the horse in some unknown way became frightened & the cherries are by the wayside.

      . 1906 Feb 1 - Mrs V Whitney pleasantly entertained a party of friends last evening at cards. Mrs Orlando Lein & Henry Peterson captured first prizes, Orland Lein was consoled by the booby prize.

      . 1906 Oct 17 - Orlando Lien is confined to his home by illness.
      . 1907 Mar 4 - Fire set by thieves who attempted to cover up their tracks for the purpose of securing booty. A number of sumer houses were burnt. The first blaze broke out from the Cowles home, which lies 2 & half miles south of the city & was discovered by Frederickson the forest, who with Orlando Lein, were driving by. The 4 men were unable to do anything towards saving the building & were obliged to stand by helpless while the fire raged.

      . 1937 Apr 17 - Berrien Springs. Orlando E Lien, 55 died at his home Friday night after a 4 month illness. He was born in Canada on Sep 25, 1881 & came to this village 17 years ago. United Brethren Church will officiate. burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Surviving are the widow, a daughter Mrs Mildred McFarland of Columbus, O, 2 sons, Lawrence of South Bend & Stanley of Berrein springs & his 3 births & grandchildren.
