    • The 1891 Census has his birth year as 1889
      The 1901 Census has his birth date as July 10,1891
      This birth date concurs with the d.o.b. as given on his Military Attestation papers for WW1 dared 06/22/1915
      Not sure as to reason for difference.

      The Military papers list his occupation as "Fireman", and further indicates that he had 3 years prior service with the 5th Canadian Field Artillery.
      He was living in Deseronto at the time of his enlistment.
      On a private note, the papers also state that his wife has left his bed and board!!!
      His height is listed as 5 feet, 8.5 inches tall, with brown hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion.
    • Frank managed to survive typhoid fever at age 12 and diphtheria in 1905 (which killed his younger sister and brother).
      Frank enlisted in WWI, citing his occupation as "Fireman", with three years prior service with the 5th Canadian Field Artillery.
      He is described as 5'8y2" tall, with brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.
      Frank had an exemplary military record; he was shot through the arm at the battle of the Somme in 1916, causing severe shrapnel fracturing;
      he suffered from exposure and a resultant recurring rheumatism from the freezing rain and sleet at Vimy Ridge in l9I7; just 6 months later he
      was gassed at Passchendaele,leaving him with chronic cardiac and respiratory complications. He won the Military Medal, and was
      discharged on27 March 1919, to his home at Point Anne.
      His wife Vera died 06 Mar 1922, Kingston.

      At the time of their marriage, Frank was working as a labourer at Point Anne.
      They had no children of their own, but may have adopted a son.
