    • Daniel emigrated with his older brother Thomas, followed 10 years later by their nephew Cornelius (eldest son of Denis. Denis emigrated in the mid 1840's.

      Daniel held the original Crown Patent for 100 acres at Con 3 Lot25 S%, deeded on May 16,1843, property which he had been settled on for some 10 years.
      The land at Con 3 Lot25 eventually passed to his son Denis (Big Din) Callaghan.
      In 1834, the Hastings Militia rolls list Daniel as then living at Con 2 Lot25. This land was eventually passed down to Big Din's only surviving child, Johanna (Murphy).
      This family emigrated to Marysville in about 1826. They had six children:
