. 1884 Feb 18 Mon, pg .3 - The Snow Shoe Races. The races of the Toronto snowshoe club came off on Saturday at the lacrosse grounds. There was fair attendance of spectators, including ladies. Game Committee: L H Whittemore.
. July 16, 1884Wed - Accident to Argonauts: On Monday night the four-oared crew of the Argonaut, made up of Whittemore, Langmuire, Davidson & Wyatt, were out for a spin on the Toronto Bay in their new papermache boat. When coming between the Aileen & the Oriole at anchor, they struck a boat with twp. half drunken chaps in it, & broke off over 4 feet of the shell. One dingy put off the the Oriole & picked up the 2 men of the skiff & another from the Aileen picked up the crew. Some of the parties had narrow escape. The crew will have trouble in replacing their boat in time for the races.

Toronto Star, Start 13 Season in Baptist Hockey League - It is just 13 years ago that the Baptist Churches organized their hockey league & the league is still running as a house league open only to competition by members of its Bible Classes. The meeting for organization purposes for this ear will be held Thursday night at 8 sharp at the Park Road Baptist Church with L H Whittemore in the chair.
. 1895 Sept 5 - Mr & Mrs. L H Whittemore, Mr. Lawrence & Mr. Aubrey Whittemore who have been spending the summer at "Oakleigh," Dr. Oldright's residence, have returned to their home in Chicago. Mr. W P Oldright is now in business in Chicago.
. 1898 Aug 28 - Mr. & Mrs. L H Whittemore, Mr. Lawrence & Aubrey Whittemore of Chicago, who have been staying at Dr. Oldright's summer residence, Jackson's Point, return to Chicago next week.
