    • OBITUARY
      Wayne Clifford Norris, 80, the eldest of 5 children of G.R. "Dick" & Lula Mae Flowers Norris, was born July 13, 1920, in the Rocky Branch area. He died Feb. 10, 2001, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
      He graduated in 1938 from Houston High School & as a young man became a member of the Clara Baptist Church.
      He married Dorene Myers March 8, 1946, at Olathe, Kan. They had 3 children & operated a dairy until 1969. He later raised beef cattle on the farm that is still their home in the White Rock community.
      After selling his dairy herd, Mr. Norris was an agent for Texas County Mutual Insurance in Licking. That career spanned 11 years until 1980, when a farm accident left him seriously injured.
      Throughout the years he enjoyed visiting with people including annual gatherings of alumni, especially his class of 1938, & attending his children & grandchildren's school activities.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Theresa Sue; & a brother, Jim.
      Surviving are his wife of the home; a son, Roger Dwaine of Overland Park, Kan.; a daughter, Dana Lynn Harper of Bucyrus; a brother, Dale of Hacienda Heights, Calif., 2 sisters, Beulah White & Imogene Randall of Houston; & 4 grandchildren.
      Services were Feb. 14 at the Oak Hill Christian Church with Bill Groff &the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Wolford Cemetery at Clara.
      Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wolford Cemetery. - - -
