- Nancy is the daughter of Mary Crawford & William Poole.
Elizabeth & Nancy Poole were sisters.
Two Poole sisters married two Monkman brothers:
Nancy Pool married John Monkman.
Elizabeth Poole married Lawrence Monkman.
. Nancy Poole 1825-1855 died at age 30 years & was buried in Carmel Cemetery.
She married John Monkman 1836-1866, who also died at age of 30 years. He was a brother of Elizabeth's husband.
. They left 6 children. William, George, Mrs. John Thompson, Mrs. Fred Felker Mrs. K Temple, & John Jr. The children seem to have been raised by their Uncle Lawrence Monkman & grandfather Wm. Monkman on W Lot 15, Con 7, 6th line. This was later owned by Fred Felker.
They settled on E half Lot 14, Con, Gara. & later it was sold to Wm. Campbell, R C Hanna & Wilfred Clark.

[Mary Crawford] Mrs. Poole of Lot 9, Con 8, Garafraxa Twp., 7th line, died about 1869.
"While attempting to head off a flock of sheep, she fell breaking her left leg between the knee & the ankle. A week later the leg was fractured again through movement in bed. Mortification set in & eventually death. The deceased was the mother of 19 children, not one of whom survived her.

Note: No date on clipping, but with that age group. (?) It is not known if the 2 Poole girls who married Monkmen & settled in the Carmel-Bellwood area were her daughters, but from the following frescoers, they dies at an early age.
