- . 1924 Oct 23, Fergus. Arnold Black & family, of Guelph, spent the weekend with friends in the village. Mr Freeman Felker, also of Guelph, visited friends in the village on Sunday.
. 1924 Dec 4, Death of Mrs W J Monkman occurred on Thrus. Nov 27th, 1924, of the one of the oldest & most esteemed residents of this district in the person of Mary Ann Jordon, wife of the late Wm J Monkman, at her home, 44 Tiffany St,Guelph. The late Mrs Monkman was born in Kng Twp. 79 years ago, moving to Eramosa two. to a fam after she had reached the age of 50. The family lived on the farm for 25 years, when they retired taking up their residence in Guelph 4 years. She is survived by 5 days: Mrs Elizabeth Scott, Eramosa,
nancy, Minnie, Albert & Adelaide at home & one sone George of Eramosa.
Survived her also is one brother, John Jordan of Trafalgar. Mrs Monkmanis an aunt of Miss Gladys Filker of town.
. 1923 Jan 3, Guelph, Late William J Monkman, passed away at his residence 44, Tiffany St., Guelph, On Wed., Jan 3, W J Monkman, after many years of suffering, but who, wrought all his sickness & pain, was very patient, always wearing a small & posses a bright & cheerful disposition. He took to his bed on Sat. Dec 23, with what was thought to be only a slight cold but on Christmas Day it was pronounced pneumonia & after 12 days illness he succumbed to the disease.
Up to 3 years ago, Mr Monkman lived on his farm in Eramosa, which he sold & came to reside in Guelph, where he lived up to the time of his death. Mr Monkman was the eldest son of the late John Monkman, of West Garfraxa. He leaves to mourn him his loss, 2 sisters & 2 Brothers, Geo. R, California, John, Galt; Mrs Felker, Fergus,
His beloved wife, 5 daughters & 1 son: Nancy, Allison, Lizzie, Mrs W Scott, Eramosa, George, Guelph; Minnie & Alberta, Toronto & Addie at home. Burial Guelph.
