WEATHERFORD - Nell Caroline Moreland Stewart, a 44-year employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in Weatherford at the age of 90. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Crowley Road, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Nell was born Sept. 5, 1915, in Pyote. She grew up in Pyote & began her career there with Southwestern Bell in 1933. After transferring to Monahans in 1936, she later became chief operator until 1955. Automation of the telephone industry gave her the opportunity for different jobs around the state. She retired from the SWB division staff in 1977 in Dallas, where she resided for many years. Nell resided at Weatherford's Peachtree Place Alzheimer Center for the past 3 years, where she received the very best of care. She & her family want to thank all the Peachtree folks who were so good to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil Arnett Moreland & Caroline May Moreland; & brothers, John, Neil Jr. & Clint.
Survivors: Her sister, Jewell Scott of Blanco; her son, Morris Neil & wife, Marianne, of Aledo; grandchildren, Deborah Stewart, Gregory Neil Stewart & wife, Christie, 7 Shea Stewart; & great-grandchildren, Heather, Clayton & Tyler.
