  • Notes
    • Lloyd lied about his age to join the army for the First World War. He enlisted on 17 Feb., 1916, in Kincardine, Ontario, stating that he had been born in 1898. According to his army service records, Lloyd arrived in England on 25 March, 1916 on the S.S. Metagama. He served as a sapper in the 160th Overseas Batallion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in France, and transferred into the Second Pioneer Brigade on Feb. 28, 1918, and to the 6th Batallion, Canadian Engineers, on 2 July, 1918. He spent some time in hospitals with mumps and the grippe in 1917. Lloyd was awarded the Good Conduct Badge and the War Service Badge Class A. His separation allowance was paid to his mother, Mrs. Jennie Stirling, Princess St., Kincardine, Ontario. Lloyd was discharged, with the rank of Captain, and returned to Kincardine on 19 May, 1919.

He was a dentist, practicing in Toronto, until his death.
