  The first actual settlers were Nathaniel Roszel in Erin Twp., followed closely by his brothers Geo., & Eldridge Roszel & David Fowler who received their ticket of location on 12 Nov 1819. Hannah Fowler married Nathaniel Roszel in 1813. Nath. homesteaded in Ballinafad in 1820.
