When on a visit to Grandma's house - how she would meet you at the door, all smiles, wearing her Mother-Hubbard wrapper, snugly belted in at the waist, made of these grey prints of so long ago & so long that her toes just peeked out when she walked. This, with her small black lace cap & tiny lavender bow in the front.

      . Off the spacious kitchen were we ate our meals, was the pantry lined with shelves & dark as a dungeon, but we know where she kept those cookie cans. ...Saturday was bake day for the week. Can't you just see that washstand with washbasin, soap in a broken saucer, comb & brush & those 3 yards lengths of roller-towel used by one & all. - - - [1]
