    • The 1851 census for Vaughan District, York County, Canada West, shows Abram Rankin, single, age 18, born in Ireland, living by himself and employed as a cooper.

      Abraham is shown as single in the 1861 census for Simcoe North. He is shown as married to Martha in the 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901 censuses. In all, he is listed as a carpenter or contractor.

      Abraham's death record shows him living in Barrie, as a "gentleman". The informant was his daughter Mrs. Sissons.
