    • The death of Alexander is related in the book "History of the Counties of Argenteuil, Quebec and Prescott, Ontario", by Cyrus Thomas (1896). He and a friend drowned in the spring of 1837 while trying to manouever a canoe over a mill dam. According to "History of the Counties of Argenteuil, Quebec and Prescott, Ontario", by Cyrus Thomas (1896), Alexander did not father any children.
