      A most enjoyable evening was spend Tuesday in the lecture room of the Jarvis St. Baptist church, which was crowded to its utmost capacity. A lecture was delivered by Rev Hugh Johnston on "Switzerland," illustrated with the aid of a powerful stereopticon by Mr. F F Whittemore. In addition, a choice musical programme was disposed of. As the general arrangements were supervised by Mr. Whittemore.

Lamb for the purpose of enabling Council to inspect the view of Toronto which it intended to send to England in response to a request of the Commission of Canada. The programme was materially lengthened by a number of excellent views which Mr. Whittemore threw on the canvas in addition.
