      . 1834 Jun 3 - The stump of the first tree that had been felled in the bounds of Guelph as then standing & was recently fenced in. the most conspicuous house in Guelph was the Priory, after the agent for the Canada Company in Guelph. There had been a fire in Guelph too & the blackened ruins were still standing.
