      . Monitor Township Early Settlement:
      In 1845 there was a large German emigration to Saginaw Valley. Soon after Thomas Kent & 5 sons came from Canada & settle upon this territory. Then came James Felker, Wm. H Needham & Wm. Hemmingway who settle upon his land in 1858.

      Obituary: James Felker, loving husband of Emeline Kirkoff whom he married in 1852 in Canada. 5 children were born. 2nd marriage to Catherine Everett in 1865. 8children were born. Dear son of John F. & Mary (Bentley) Felker. Brother of Levi Green Felker. - - - [1]
