  • Notes
    • According to "History of the Counties of Argenteuil, Quebec and Prescott, Ontario", by Cyrus Thomas (1896), The Duchess of Argyle, who was the wife of Colin's father's landlord in Scotland, took a great interest in baby Colin, "and expressed hope that his hair would be red." She presented him with a full suit of kilts, which remained in the family for many years.

In later years Colin was a lieutenant in the company of Captain Ostrom during the Rebellion of 1837. He served as School Commissioner in his community.
