    • In 1864 or 1865, John, crossed Lake Huron to Alcona County, Michigan, where he worked in a sawmill and also homesteaded a farm.
      According to the Marriage Record on July 13,1879, his residence was in Harrisville, Alcona County, Michigan.
      He obviously came back to Canada at some point prior to that date to meet his intended bride (Anne McDonnell), who I would point out was 16 years his junior.
      They are living in Harrisville per the 1880 Census.
