Gladys in her younger days lived with her mother, the former Jane Monkman Felker, twenty years after the others left home. At sixteen (1909) years of age she went to work at Beatty's Hay & Grain Carriers, who switch into tools & then changed to litter carriers for cleaning stables. They bought churns and washers from Workman & Ward, London and also bought out Tolton Bros. in Guelph. She worked seventeen years for Beatty Bros. Ltd. with her mother until she married (1925).

Second husband Neil & Glayds Felker had no children.
