  According to "From Wolf's Den to Huttonville", Darius was a Justice of the Peace, like his father. He was prominent in the agricultural and political life of Peel County. After retiring from farming, Darius, his wife and their daughter Louva ran the Victoria Hotel on Main Street North in Brampton. Darius and Millie served as judges in many fall fairs. Darius and Millie are buried in Park Lawn cemetery in Toronto.
