"LEAMINGTON - ?.On Sunday morning, October 12th, the town was sadly surprised by the sudden death of Mrs. John Setterington. Retiring in her usual health on Saturday night, there was no indication of a change until early Sunday morning, her daughter, Mrs. Brown, was alarmed by symptoms of distress in her breathing and before help could be procured the vital spark had become extinguished. The deceased was born in the United States, March 3rd,1816. When about nine years old, after the death of her mother, she was brought by her father, Mr. Kenyon and family to the vicinity of Ingersoll, Ont. About the year 1834 she came to this neighbourhood, when she was married to the late John Setterington. Their married life was for the most part spent in this vicinity. In the year 1880, the husband died after a married life of about 46 years. Ten years later, October 12th, 1890, the widow passed away at the ripe old age of 74 years. The deceased had been a faithful member of the Baptist Church , at this place, for about 30 years. The funeral service was held in that place of worship on Tuesday, the 14th inst., and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. Prosser, assisted by the Rev. O.A.Daugharty, M.A., in the presence of a large concourse of people."
