    • Boyd H Redner, Battle Creek
      Boyd H. Redner, Jr., age 73, of Battle Creek, died January 9, 2007, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, Michigan. Boyd was born November 12, 1933 in Battle Creek, the son of Boyd H. Redner, Sr. & Frances Fay (Eaton) Redner. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1951 & the University of Michigan in 1955, where he was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.
      In 1957 he married Betty Jane Brown of Battle Creek. He was employed by the Battle Creek Packaging Company (formerly Battle Creek Bread Wrapping Company) from 1957-1975. In 1974 he married Anne Johnston. In 1977 he purchased Lakeview Hardware, where he worked until retiring in 1999.
      His passions were playing golf, trout fishing on the AuSable River & Black & White scotch. He was a 50-year member & a past president of the Battle Creek Country Club. He was a past president of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute & a member of the Knife & Fork Club. He served on the board of directors of Oak Hill Cemetery & was a member of the First Congregational Church. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & reading.
      He is survived by his companion Dagmar Dostie; his 3 daughters,
      Kerrie Redner of Battle Creek,
      Laura (Craig) Walters of Battle Creek &
      Carol (Mark) Snapp of Kalamazoo;
      a son, Boyd H. Redner III of Chicago; & 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Alex, Zachary, Henry & Lydia.
      He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 1971, his sister Joyce in 1990 & his daughter Sarah in 2000.
      A visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shaw Funeral Home, 2838 Capital Avenue SW, Battle Creek, Michigan, where the family will be present. A celebration of Boyd's life will be held Saturday, February 10, 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Battle Creek Country Club, 318 Country Club Drive, Battle Creek, Michigan. Memorial contributions in Boyd's honor may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence, 5470 Glen Cross Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, 49015. Envelopes available at the funeral home. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
