      Thomas Applegate, b. say 1628, adult by 20 Dec 1650, when Thomas Applegate Junior purchased land in Gravesend from Randall Huett.
      Married 1 Feb 1698 to Johanna Gibbons, dau. of Richard Gibbons of Middletown, freeholder, deeded to
      Thomas Applegate Senior of the Falls, inhabitant, 100 A in a certain place called the Nutt Swampt (Ref: E Jersey Deeds All 142.
      Will 1 Feb 1698, Thomas Applegate of Milton in East Jersey, bequeath to my son Benjamine 50 A of land & to my son Richard & his heirs 50 A. of land which aforementioned 100 A. I had of my father-in-law Richard Gibbons;
      he also bequeath to my loving wife Johanna. On the basis of this Will, Stilwell concluded that Johanna was a second wife & only Benj. & Richard were here children, a possible but not a necessary conclusion.
