      1918 January 22, Mr & Mrs. Lawrence C Phipps left Denver Monday for Baltimore last evening, having received a telegram announcing the death of Mr. Phipps elder brother, Albert J Phipps of Baltimore, who died at Jacksonville, fly, about 3 o'clock the morning of Jan 21. He was in his 64th year & had enjoyed the best of health until his recent illness. He leaves a widow. He had not been engaged in any active business for some years past.

      . 1918 Jan 24, Albert J Phipps, for many years a member if Mires & Phipps Co., wholesale packers & commission merchants, died Monday following an attach of heart trouble at Jacksonville, Fla, where went several weeks ago to regain his health. His wife was at the bedside when the end came. The body will be brought to Baltimore for burial. Mr. Phipps retired from active business about 5 years ago & since then hand resided on Edmondson ave. Catonsville. He was 56 y. old. He was a nephew of Henry Phipps who found the Phipps clinic at own Hopkins Hospital. He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Katherine Emma Phipps; 2 daughters; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth P Hunter of Pittsburg, PA, & a brother Lawrence C Phipps, of Denver, Col.

      Carsonville, May 17. Funeral services were held in the home this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Albert Phipps, 57, who died suddenly early Monday evening. Rev. Joseph Blackmore, pastor of the M. E. church, officiated, with burial in Washington cemetery.
      Mary Jane Laughlin was born May 14, 1876, on the old Laughlin farm a short distance from where she died. She is survived by her husband, a brother Arthur Laughlin, of Detroit; & a sister, Mrs. W. H. Anderson, living on a farm near here. She was well known here & in the surrounding community and her sudden passing is a shock to all who knew her.

      Carsonville, Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 22nd for Albert J. Phipps. Mr. Phipps, 81, & a native of Huron County, Ontario, died at his home on Wednesday, June 20th, following a long illness.
      He was born on November 29, 1869 & came to Sanilac county in 1881. Mr. Phipps' wife the former Mattie Laughlin, whom he married in 1901, died in 1934.
      The funeral service, conducted from the Carsonville Methodist church by the Rev. Leslie Coliver, was followed by interment in Washington cemetery.Survivors include 4 brothers, Herbert & Allan Phipps, both of Carsonville; Harvey, of Port Huron & William, of Sandusky; 3 sisters, Mrs. Clara Gingrich, Carsonville; Mrs. Ernest Hawes, Applegate; & Mrs. Joe Miller, Detroit.
