    8. Journal of Reverend Wm. Griffis.
Martha A. Dolsen, daughter of Daniel & Abigail Dolsen, was born May 6th 1804 on the old Dolsen Homestead in the Township of Raleight, Co. Kent, Province of Upper Canada. Reared with the tender care of a good & kind father & mother until she was twenty years old, when she married my father, the Rev. William Griffis Jr. with whom she lived fifty-eight years, a happy and loving couple to the end, having raised seven children, four boys and three girls. Jan.29-1884 after a few months sickness, she left us to join her departed husband in that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens, where I hope she realizes to the full extent what was her belief thro' life, that there was a heaven, a place of rest....she lies in my lot at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam, Wis.
After the death of the Reverend Wm. Griffis, his eldest son, Wm. Case Friffis, wrote in his fathers journal. The journal is in the possession of Thomas Griffis in Hickory, North Carolina.
