      Damaris was born to

      Steven and Catherine Hopkins

      just before they left on the Mayflower. No birth record has been found but it is likely to have been in London. Damaris is listed in the division of cattle in 1627 but

      a number of researchers believe she had died and another child had been born who was also named Damaris.
