      FUNERAL FOR DAN NEFF IS FRIDAY:
      Life Long Resident Dies at His Home on Wednesday.
      Funeral services for Dan Neff will be held Friday afternoon at his home, with Rev. Jarboe officiating. Mr. Neff had been in failing
      health for the past three or four years. He suffered a stroke this summer and was injured in the automobile crash last Wednesday. It
      is thought while in bed on account of his injuries this past week, he suffered another stroke. Pneumonia set in and his death
      occurred Wednesday morning about 6 o'clock. Dan Neff was 63 years old, having been born Feb. 28th, 1868, the youngest of the
      five children of Abraham and Lydia Neff. He was born on the old Neff homestead, which had been built by his parents two and one
      half miles north of Syracuse back in pioneer days. There wasn't a tree cut on the place when his parents moved to this undeveloped
      land. Mr. Neff spent all of his life in this vicinity with the exception of several trips to Florida. His first wife, Ida Rookstool, went
      before him into Eternity many years ago. He was then married to Rose Hershey of Goshen in 1916. His widow and his brother
      Lewis of Syracuse and Henry of New Paris and one sister, Mrs. Peter Long of Howe are the only family left behind, besides 11
      nephew and nieces..
