    On Wednesday, June 30th, a very happy event took place at "Maple Grove," the home of Mr & Mrs Robert Johnston, 2nd Line Erin Twp., when their daughter Ida May was united in marriage to Mr. Ernest Herbert Near, eldest son of Mr & Mrs Wm. Near, 2nd line, Erin Twp. In the presence of the immediate relatives of the families. The bridge entered the room on the arm of her father to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Margaret near, sister of the groom. The young couple, who were unattended, stood under a beautiful arch, tastefully decorated with hawthorn blossoms, honeysuckles & ferns. The ceremony was performed by Rev D H Taylor of Rockwood. The bride looked very sweet in her bridal dress of white silk made in semi-princesses style & trimmed with vaioncpaneurs? lace & intertrim. He wore a veil of white tulle & carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley. Her traveling suit was of navy blue ladies' cloth with white hat. After receiving the congratulations of the company all adjourned to the dining room & partook of a dainty repast after which happy speeches were made by Rev Mr Taylor & others, all xx the high entours? in which the young couple are hold. Mr & Mrs Near left on the 6.25 train on their honeymoon trip to Toronto, Niagara Falls & other points & will be "At Home" after August 1st, at 73 Turnbull? ave., Detroit, Mich.
