    Obituary:
    Bernard Brock, star pitcher of the Caro Independent baseball team, passed away Tuesday, December 26 [1939] following an attack of pneumonia. His death occurred at Caro Community Hospital after an illness of only a few days.
    Funeral services were held from the Huston Funeral Home Friday, December 29, at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in Caro Cemetery.
    For some time the young man had worked in a radio repair shop in Caro, ad was known as an outstanding athlete of the community. He played football while attending Caro High School & was star pitcher for the school baseball team. After leaving school he was one of the leading moundsmen for the independent team.
    Besides his parents, Mr. Mrs. John Brock, he leaves a brother, Lawrence, & sister, Iva, both at home. He was a nephew of Mrs. Melvin Southworth of Cass City.
